About the Farm

In the high hills overlooking Lake Tanganyika, the longest freshwater lake in the world, is the Nyagashiha Central Washing
Station. Just over 80 coffee farming families with a long history of farming hand-pick and then deliver their cherries to the
washing station. Coffee is of paramount importance to these families and Burundi at large. In an effort to receive higher prices
for their coffee, the coffee farming families and the Nyagashiha Central Washing Station have focused on improving their quality
every year. In 2018 they even placed in Burundi’s Cup of Excellence!
