El Salvador- Finca La Reforma

About the Farm

Finca La Reforma lies on the slopes of the famous Llamatepec Volcano in El Salvador about 1,300 to 1,450 meters above sea level.

The Alvarez family has over 100 years of experience growing and exporting coffee. The farm sets high standards for their coffee.  They maintain their quality by training pickers to only select fully mature cherries, as well as processing in the family’s modern wet mill, sun drying on patios, and storing in their own facility. In addition these standards, they also cup their coffees regularly to insure the quality of their product.

This meticulous attention to detail shown in every stage of production has enable the family to survive the many struggles that the coffee industry in El Salvador has suffered in the last 20 years

By perfecting their process, they are able to create a fruit forward and complex profile.
